CEDAR LAKE PROTECTION AND REHABILITATION DISTRICT

MEETING MINUTES – MAY 23, 2005

 

Chairman Flom called the meeting to order at 7:20 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2005 at the Star Prairie Community Center.

 

Members Present: Doug Flom, Bob Goodlad, Don J. Demulling, Jack Hayes, Brad Johnson, and Dennis Early

Members Absent:  John Bonneprise

 

The April minutes were read by Demulling.  Early moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Goodlad and carried

Demulling moved to approve the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Hayes and carried.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Aerator:  Hayes reported that the aerator was started on May 5th.  This is the earliest start up date yet.  Hayes has contacted a compressor service company to check on the compressor.

 

Buoy Placement:  Buoys were installed on May 1st by the board members.

 

Horse Creek Inlet:  17 high school seniors, along with Marty Engle of the DNR, placed a truck load of field rock on the north side of the culvert to improve walleye spawning habitat.  Demulling moved to donate $100.00 to the New Richmond High School, seconded by Goodlad and carried.

 

 

Water Quality:  Goodlad stated that the DNR Water Quality Meeting will be held on June 3rd at the Star Prairie Community Center from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Personnel from the Corps of Engineers, Polk County Land and Water, and the DNR will be in attendance. 

 

Dam Report:  Hayes reported that the concrete wall on the east side of the dam is cracked and has moved apart.  The Board discussed several repair options and tabled this for later meetings.

 

The next meeting will be held Monday, June 27th at 7:00 p.m. at the Star Prairie Community Center.

Goodlad moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Hayes, and carried.  Meeting was adjourned at 8:38 p.m.
