MEETING MINUTES – OCTOBER 23, 2006

Flom called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2006 at the Star Prairie Community Center.

Members Present: Bob Goodlad, Don J. Demulling, Dennis Early, Doug Flom, Brad Johnson, and Jack Hayes

Demulling moved to approve the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Goodlad and carried.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Outlet Aquatic Plants: Hayes reported that the lake level will be dropped to the fall and winter levels and expressed concerns about the test plots of aquatic plants by the outlet. Demulling stated that Deb Konkle and Marty Engle of the DNR would do a spring assessment to determine how many and which plants survived the water drawdown and the winter impact on the different plants.

NEW BUSINESS

Star Prairie Land Trust Report: Pete Kling and Stuart Nelson, representing the Star Prairie Land Trust, presented a report on the public access currently being installed in the southwest portion of the bay. Kling reported that Star Prairie Township has donated $10,000 and Cedar Lake District donated $4,500. Kling stated that with the $14,500 combined donations, the SPLT applied for a matching grant from the Wisconsin DNR. The grant was approved giving the SPLT an additional $14,500. A permanent dock will be installed and a parking lot capable of holding 8-10 cars will be installed this fall. The project will be titled South Cedar Bay Landing.

Aerator Update: Hayes reported that the aerator was shut down October 5^th. Water samples have been submitted to the DNR. Oil samples from the compressor have been tested and are reported to be acceptable.

Buoy Removal: Flom reported that the buoys were removed on October 21^st. Flom, Demulling, and Goodlad placed the buoys in the storage area by the aerator building.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, January 22, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Star Prairie Community Center.

Early moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Goodlad, and carried. Meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
