MEETING MINUTES – JANUARY 22, 2007

 

Flom called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m., Monday, January 22, 2007 at the Star Prairie Community Center.

 

Members Present: Bob Goodlad, Don J. Demulling, Dennis Early, Doug Flom, Brad Johnson, and Neil Johnson

 

Members Absent:  Jack Hayes

 

Demulling moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Goodlad, and carried.

 

The October 2006 minutes were read by Demulling.  Goodlad moved to approve the minutes, seconded by Early, and carried

Demulling moved to approve the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Goodlad and carried.

 

NEW BUSINESS

 

Sign Ordinance:  Flom reported that he and Demulling installed the water skipping signs on the ice on January 6th.  There are two signs in the southwest bay area, two by the outlet, one by the inlet, and one at the public access on the north end.

 

Officer Enforcement:  A discussion was held regarding hiring an officer for enforcement of the water skipping ordinance.  Goodlad is to check with the Star Prairie Police force.  Demulling will check with the New Richmond Police force.

 

Fish Cribs:  Flom reported that the fish crib building day will be Saturday, January 27th.  There will be two crews working on construction.  One crew will work in the southwest bay area and the other at the north public landing.  50-60 cribs are planned on being built.

 

Road Signs:  Flom reported that the Star Prairie Township Meeting minutes from January 2, 2007 stated that the township is asking the Lake District to pay for the No Parking signs on County Highway M near the winter access.  Goodlad moved to deny paying for the signs, seconded by Demulling, and carried.

 

The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 26, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Star Prairie Community Center.
